Volunteer & Get Involved

We have different opportunities for you to get involved at Grace House.

Below is a list of our current needs and ways you can help.

Help by praying:

The staff at Coastal Bend Grace House solicit your prayers for themselves and this ministry. They rely on God’s strength, wisdom and guidance each day as they minister to women working through the difficult issues of their past and looking forward to a changed life from within that only our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ can provide.

We believe that the Bible is the infallible Word of God and it provides the truth given to us by God according to 2 Timothy 3:16 “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness .

We also believe that God desires the best for each of us according to Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Help by donating:

Besides our normal operating expenses, your gracious donation also helps to provide other needs such as:

Purchasing bibles to take to jails | Groceries and gas | Walmart gift cards for the women | Office supplies and more

Volunteer to be a teacher:

Ladies who have expertise in the various fields of the curriculum or have a desire to lead in-home bible studies and discussions.

Volunteer to be a mentor:

Establish/maintain an ongoing relationship with one of our residents. Ideally, your relationship with your mentee should be long-term. We hope that you will walk with her during her residency at Coastal Bend Grace House and that you will continue to encourage and hold her accountable in the months and years to follow.

Disciple mentee to develop her personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to follow His example in daily living. Our residents arrive at Coastal Bend Grace House knowing the language of Christianity and that’s a good place to start. Most of them haven’t recognized that they are supposed to practice what they preach. Your job, as mentor, is to model Christ’s example, to help them to see what that can look like in their lives and to give them opportunities to practice it.

Encourage mentee to seek God and His will for their lives. As our residents begin to see that God has a purpose for their lives, they begin to try and discover what that is. We don’t always know God’s plan for us, but we do know that His will is for us to live according to His Word at every step — during the discovery process, during the planning stages, during the equipping process, and constantly as we live out His plan.

Volunteer to be a driver:

Women who would assist in driving residents to church functions, court appointments, volunteering events and classes.

Volunteer as a Board or Banquet Committee Member:

Board members are individuals that possess the passion for the ministry and desire to give of themselves through action, word and resources to assist the staff and volunteers as we all disciple and mentor women to find the healing and hope through a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Board members are active ambassadors who promote the ministry to those they encounter and people in their circle of influence that would be interested in helping the ministry.

Board members are expected to attend quarterly board meetings and special called meetings if needed. We do not have frivolous meetings and only meet when truly necessary.  We respect everyone’s time.
