Kim arrived at CBGH with a vast knowledge of the Lord and she has spent nine months nurturing her relationship with Jesus Christ and found a love for God that she treasures with all of her heart. Kim has shown tremendous change in her life and now seeks to find God’s will in her life.

She plans to stay in Corpus Christi and is seeking employment in the Coastal Bend area. She is a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church and we are all very proud of her.

The YES Campaign

Say yes campaignPastors and leaders of the Coastal Bend region have selected two ministries in South Texas as the first recipients of the newly formed YES Campaign. New Life Refuge Ministries is one of them. The other is Coastal Bend Grace House. Each ministry will receive a share of the funds raised from this campaign.

The goal of this campaign is to mobilize at least 1000 people who are committed to giving $365.00/yr for 2 years. That’s $1 a day, or $365 a year for 2 years. The YES Campaign is a plan where everyone is asked to say YES to…the Body working together supporting faith-based ministries that are making a difference for Christ being the Body in action.

The campaign will be managed by a team of pastors consisting of Ken de Koning, Don Leavell, and Joel Perritte. Donations will be collected by De Koning Ministries under “YES Campaign”

Jullie Stokely speaks in Texas  prisons

The month of May certainly brought lots of surprises that were blessings for many. Jullie received a request to visit three different prisons in Gatesville and Marlin Texas. Monday the 16th we visited the Hilltop Trusty Camp where Jullie shared her personal testimony and information about Coastal Bend Grace House.

The women were very interested in Jullie’s story and learning more about CBGH. After a time of Q&A we were able to speak to the women individually as several of them shared their own stories and were encouraged by our visit.

Tuesday evening we were in the Lane Murry unit where close to sixty women listened intently as Jullie shared how the power of Jesus Christ has changed her life. It was a huge blessing to them and to us as we visited for almost ninety minutes.

Wednesday evening we traveled to Marlin and visited the women in the N-1 unit. It was a perfect way to wrap up the trip and share some time with some great women. Thank you to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and the volunteer groups that made our visits possible.
