We have experienced a delay breaking ground for our new home. Our builders sought a building permit from the city and were denied based on the need for the property to be rezoned for this type of ministry. It seems we are experiencing the changing of the city’s zoning laws. When the property was donated to us we were zoned correctly for the zoning laws at that time.
The city has revamped all of their zoning laws and we just happen to be in one of the areas affected by the change. We are not anticipating any issues with the change other than a delay to get started.
Signs have been posted on the property notifying the public of the rezoning request and notification of the meeting to be held Wednesday September 7, 2016 in the council chambers on the first floor of City Hall, located at 1201 Leopard St., and will begin at 5:30 PM. Our rezoning case will be scheduled for review by the Planning Commission and your support is desired. If you are able and wish to attend the public is invited.
